Annual Board Retreat

On Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, members of the Association board met on the American University campus flew or drove to DC from Boston, Philadelphia, DC, Virginia, and Germany.  Our mission was to identify how to grow our community and expand our services.  Most of the sessions tied back to member value and growing our membership.  At the end of the retreat, we walked away with many posters of our notes.  We also practiced visual facilitation with guru Matteo Becchi’s guidance and the many colorful markers he brought with him.

Not to mention, on Saturday afternoon Karen Mack joined us for an open session where members were invited to talk about the Association and how to keep the circle alive.  Thanks for the input, Karen!  It was great to be back on campus and see how AU has changed over the years.  After the retreat, we wondered over to Guapo’s for a member happy hour.

Member Happy Hour

Saturday evening was the real reason for us to get together: our member happy hour!  Kidding aside, this event at Guapo’s truly was the most critical part, because we met many students from Cohort 72 and 71, as well as faculty and alumni of the MSOD program.  Having fun conversations about our favorite theories was a highlight of the happy hour.  In addition, we chatted about how important a de-stressing cocktail is after community time.  Further, participants expressed how the MSOD community is so vital to our success as OD practitioners while savoring margaritas, salsa, and chips to get the networking started!

Check out our photos from the event below, and be sure to sign-in or renew your membership to be able to post to our discussion board, (re)connect with your cohort, and find/post OD jobs!  More member and community services are coming, and we’ll post details about those soon.
